Year 6 News

Autumn 2010

 

 

Dear Parent/Carer and Pupil,

 

Well another year is again upon us and can I start by first welcoming you all to Year 6. I am thoroughly looking forward to working with this wonderful class and an exciting journey as we learn together.  We have an amazing amount of things planned for this year and aim to make the final year at Macaulay a memorable one. My philosophies on teaching are very much based on student engagement and the need for a supportive and safe learning environment. I believe that “happy children learn” and so encourage students to take risks and learn through mistakes and challenges. I also have an open classroom policy and welcome any student or parent to visit anytime before or after-school.  Each member of our class is a talented individual and I look forward to seeing each one grow and mature over the course of the year. Year 6 is your class and you should feel proud of it and everyone in it. I look forward to meeting those parents that I have not yet met, be it in a formal setting or a chat in the playground. This year is a new year and a new start and with the support and connection between teacher/pupil and parent I believe it will be a very successful one.
